The elite group of women who have redpointed an 8c route is rapidly enlarging. After Natalija Gros and Maja Vidmar, both from Slovenia, repeated 8c routes this spring, now a Polish climber Kinga Ociepka (Five Ten) has joined the 8c club.
The 8c route repeated by Kinga is called Geminis and located in Rodellar (Spain) in the Grand Boveda sector. Kinga, 20, is the tenth woman to achieve this feat and, at the same time, seems to be the youngest female climber to manage this level of difficulty.
Other ladies who climed 8c routes include: Josune Bereziartu (Spain), Liv Sansoz (France), Aleksandra Taistra (Poland), Marietta Uhden (Germany), Beth Rodden (US), Eva López (Spain), Martina Cufar (Slovenia), Natalija Gros (Slovenia), and Maja Vidmar (Slovenia).
